Rivermap EN Storå
The Storå (also known as Storåen), literally "Large Creek," is one of Denmark’s longest rivers at approximately 104 km. It flows through western Jutland from the area around Ikast/Herning westward through Holstebro into the Nissum Fjord. The river is a popular destination for recreational activities: anglers prize it as one of Denmark’s premier waters for salmon and sea trout, with successful fly fishing and spinning. Canoeists and kayakers can enjoy peaceful paddling trips over long stretches through the varied West Jutland landscape, experiencing nature and wildlife up close. Hiking trails along the banks offer pleasant walks and tours that perfectly combine nature and relaxation.
