Toccoa / Ocoee River

The Toccoa River (known as the Ocoee River in Tennessee) is a beautiful river in the Appalachian Mountains and a popular destination for outdoor activities. In Georgia, the Toccoa offers calmer waters with Class I-II rapids, ideal for family-friendly tubing, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and gentle rafting trips. In Tennessee, the Ocoee turns into a thrilling whitewater river with continuous Class III-IV rapids. It is one of the best-known rafting destinations in the USA, especially the Middle Ocoee and the Olympic section from 1996. Guided rafting tours are the main attraction, but the river is also popular with experienced kayakers. Additional activities include hiking, mountain biking, trout fishing, swimming, and picnicking in the scenic surroundings. The rafting season usually runs from March to October.
