Beschreibung des Flusses East Fork Stones River
The East Fork Stones River is the longest tributary of the Stones River in central Tennessee. It originates on Short Mountain in Cannon County and flows approximately 54 miles (87 km) northward through Woodbury and areas near Murfreesboro before joining the West Fork near Smyrna to form the main Stones River. The river supports drinking water supply, diverse wildlife habitats including fish, mussels, and crayfish, and offers recreational opportunities such as paddling, fishing, and hiking along scenic stretches with small rapids and greenways. Efforts are underway to restore natural flow by removing historic dams like the Readyville Dam.
