St. Croix River

The St. Croix River forms the border between Maine (USA) and New Brunswick (Canada). It originates in the Chiputneticook Lakes, flows approximately 120 km south, and empties into Passamaquoddy Bay (Atlantic Ocean). Historically important for the timber industry, it is now a protected area (St. Croix International Waterway) and popular for canoeing, fishing, and nature tourism.
