Kalamazoo River

The Kalamazoo River is a significant waterway in southwest Michigan, USA. It flows approximately 130 miles (210 km) from the confluence of its North and South branches to its mouth at Lake Michigan near Saugatuck and Douglas. Including the South Branch, the total length reaches about 178 miles. The river drains a large watershed of around 2,020 square miles across ten counties and has historically played an important role in regional transportation, industry, and settlement. Today, it is valued for recreation such as paddling, fishing, and nature observation, with parts designated as a Natural River.
