The Water of Ruchill (also known as Ruchill Water) is a scenic river in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It rises from the merging of several streams in the hills southwest of Comrie and flows northeasterly through the beautiful Glen Artney for around 10 km before joining the River Earn at Comrie. The river has a lively, alpine character with continuous rapids, rocky sections, waterfalls and pools set in a dramatic glen surrounded by hills and woodland. The Water of Ruchill and its valley are popular for outdoor leisure activities. Walkers enjoy pleasant riverside paths starting from Comrie, including the Water of Ruchill Circular route that follows the river upstream through attractive woodland and fields, with opportunities to see rapids and waterfalls. The area is ideal for hiking, nature observation and peaceful strolls. For more adventurous visitors, the river offers good white-water kayaking and canoeing, particularly after rainfall, with grade 2–4 rapids depending on water levels. It also provides opportunities for wild swimming in suitable spots and angling in the pools.
