Rivermap EN Provo River
The Provo River rises high in the Uinta Mountains and winds roughly seventy miles southwest through alpine meadows, the Heber Valley, and the narrow Provo Canyon of the Wasatch Range before emptying into Utah Lake near the city of Provo. Reservoirs divide its course into three distinct sections of clear, cold water framed by steep canyon walls and the striking Mount Timpanogos. Recreationally it draws visitors with premier year-round fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout, relaxed summer tubing and kayaking, as well as hiking and cycling along the parallel parkway trail.
