White Chuck River

The White Chuck River rises on the western slopes of Glacier Peak in Washington’s Cascade Range and flows as a glacier-fed mountain stream through dense forests and the Glacier Peak Wilderness before joining the Sauk River south of Darrington. Its turbulent whitewater shapes a landscape of steep valleys and forested benches. Recreational focus lies on easy hiking along the White Chuck Bench Trail, offering nearly level paths through the woods with glimpses of surrounding peaks and small waterfalls, as well as access to intermediate whitewater rafting and kayaking on the neighboring Sauk River.
