Warm Springs River

The Warm Springs River rises in the Cascade Range of northern Oregon and travels roughly fifty miles generally east and southeast through varied terrain of forested slopes, volcanic plateaus and canyons before joining the Deschutes River. Its watershed stretches between Mount Jefferson and Timothy Lake and largely coincides with the boundaries of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. Along the lower reaches, especially near the Kah-Nee-Ta area, gentle currents and mild rapids invite tubing, rafting and paddling, while trails through the high-desert landscape and nearby geothermal springs provide opportunities for hiking and relaxation.
