The Big Eau Pleine River is an approximately 29-mile-long tributary of the Wisconsin River in central Wisconsin, USA. It originates in southern Taylor County near Stetsonville, flows through Marathon County past Stratford, and is impounded by the Moon Dam to form the large Big Eau Pleine Reservoir. The river eventually joins the Wisconsin River at Lake DuBay near Mosinee. The upper sections are a popular – though flow-dependent – destination for canoeing and kayaking, featuring numerous rapids and granite boulder gardens, while the reservoir is especially known for fishing and boating.
