The Manitowish River is an approximately 44-mile-long (71 km) river in northern Wisconsin (USA), flowing through Vilas and Iron Counties in the scenic Northwoods region. It originates near High Lake close to Boulder Junction, winds through wetlands, marshes, and parts of the Manitowish chain of lakes, and is characterized by its gentle, mostly flatwater course with only occasional small riffles. The river is highly popular for canoeing, kayaking, and tubing before eventually joining the Flambeau River.
