East Branch Penobscot River

The East Branch Penobscot River is a 121.2 km long tributary of the Penobscot River in Maine, USA. It originates in Piscataquis County, flows through Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument and Baxter State Park, passes Grand Lake Matagamon, and empties into the West Branch at Medway. Known for its scenic beauty, it features Class I-III rapids, four significant waterfalls with portages, and is ideal for canoeing, fishing (trout, salmon), and wildlife viewing.
