Lehigh River

The Lehigh River is about 174.40 km | 108.13 mi long river in northeastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey in the United States. The river rises in the Pocono Mountains and flows south into the Lehigh Valley, where it eventually joins the Delaware River. The Lehigh River has a rich history and was an important transportation route for the coal and steel industries in the 19th century. Today it is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as rafting, kayaking and hiking, and also provides habitat for a variety of animal and plant species in the region.
